Rich Memories
Despite visiting and staying in some of the most luxurious places in the world, if I could get back to anywhere right now it would be the holidays we’ve enjoyed as a family in rural France in summer. We rent a home and literally fill it with family. We spend days and evenings by the pool, cook, eat outside, play cards and drink wine — lots of wine. I once said to someone I admire very much that one of the challenges of having five children is the need to holiday more modestly because we could no longer afford the air fares to California, the Caribbean and those other places we want to go. They replied, in a way completely befitting of my admiration, that — “modest holidays make for the richest children”. Photos from our holiday in Monpazier last year.
